BillyChip®️ Foundation registered charity 1188779 was set up in 2018 to continue the legacy of Billy Abernethy-Hope a twenty-year-old ambulance driver from Bristol who was the inspiration and idea behind the BillyChip®️. After helping support the homeless at Christmas, Billy felt disheartened at how little support the general public gave to local homeless people. Many people donate to charity on a regular basis but Billy was surprised what a small percentage of donations were given directly to people living rough on our streets. Turns out most people are apprehensive to give money directly to homeless people because it's not possible to know how a donation is spent.

Unfortunately, the common perception is the money will be used for alcohol, drugs or cigarettes. Even if a donation of food or drink is given to safeguard your donation, it is very awkward as people have to make assumptions of what the person would like and when. The alternative is to engage with that person, ask the question and purchase what’s required which many feel uncomfortable doing. Billy recognized that the likelihood of someone having the time, inclination, courage, and kindness to engage with a homeless person to buy them food or drink was too big a challenge. That was the eureka moment when he first thought up the concept of the BillyChip®️. Sadly Billy never got to launch the BillyChip as planned due to his untimely death whilst backpacking in Thailand.

If a person who has been treated with leprosy is provided with a cow or goat, then they can sell their milk and gain a reasonable income. This independence and income is vital to help them rebuild their lives after treatment, and to sustain themselves for the future. 

During Easter holiday we provide young people and children with skills, education and food. We will focused on giving each child the chance to explore their creativity

Mentoring Young Creatives is a programme that matches a vulnerable young person with a well suited, experienced mentor to help support and guide them. Mentoring can help to reduce the rates of mental health issues by providing access to support with a like minded individual, helping young people to feel less alone in their mental health struggles. 

Every HeroRat home is well ventilated and nicely chilled with air condition or fans during warmer weather conditions. Each home includes wood to gnaw on to help keep their teeth healthy and trimmed, as well as a water bottle infused with vitamins and minerals.

Can you help us engage with young people? Every week we head out from the youth centre and engage with young people where ever they are. It's a great way to get useful services out to young people that might not know about them and offer support where it's needed. We like to offer young people a hot chocolate and biscuit while they chat to us and some really look forward to seeing us. Forever Angels supports orphaned and abandoned babies by providing life saving formula milk at our Interim Care Home as well as to babies in the community being raised by relatives.   20 women die in childbirth every day in Tanzania, leaving behind 20 babies at risk of malnutrition and death.  We provide these babies with the necessary nutrition to keep them alive and be able to thrive.  £50 supports a baby with milk for one month - esentally saving its life.  Thank you for your kind support.

Childhood cancer is the most common medical cause of death of children in the UK. Every year, just under 4,000 children and young adults receive this life changing diagnosis. The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust is working to raise awareness of childhood cancer and the signs and symptoms with which it may present. We produce educational resources for parents and clinicians, provide support to families and fund research into rare cancers of childhood. The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust was founded in memory of 4 year old Grace Kelly who passed away in 2014. The vision of the Trust was born from the inspiration that Grace imparted on the people she met. Grace was a compassionate and caring little girl, who looked after others before herself. We are making a difference to other children whilst fulfilling Grace's wish of helping others. Because The Children Of Today All Deserve A Tomorrow

The Boarding School is the name of our new indoor skateboarding project. We've got a hall full of ramps at our youth centre that we set up each week for young rippers. Your wish will help us provide skateboard tuition to a young person to help them progress and earn locally recognised accreditation.
